GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — A Palestinian man was killed and two others were injured early Tuesday when a tanker truck carrying diesel from Israel to the Gaza Strip exploded on the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing, medics said.
Medical sources said 17-year-old Muhammad Ahmad Bahloul was killed and his father Ahmad Yousef Bahloul sustained serious burns in the incident.
Another 60-year-old man sustained moderate wounds.
The injured men and the body of the dead teen were taken to Shifa hospital in Gaza City, ministry of health spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said.
Firefighters were able to control the fire after the truck exploded, a spokesman for Gaza’s civil defense forces told Ma’an.
The cause of the explosion is still being investigated.
