JERUSALEM (Ma’an) – A Palestinian girl suffered foot fractures and other bruises after she was hit by a vehicle belonging to security guards of Israeli settlers in Ein al-Luzah in the Silwan neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
Ten-year-old Mariam Karim Dana’s brother Amir told a Ma’an reporter in Jerusalem that the vehicle was speeding excessively on a narrow road in a densely populated area.
According to Dana, “the driver stopped after he hit the girl, then he deliberately reversed the vehicle running over the girl’s foot.”
The driver, though, did not leave the place until Israeli police arrived.
“They did not question him, nor did they take him into custody,” the girl’s brother added.
The girl was evacuated to Hadassah Har Hatsofim hospital near al-Isawiya. Doctors said she had foot fracture and neck and back bruises.
Dana said his family would sue the driver.
